IMO the 1st gear is useless and if you're going to break your tranny, it will most likely happen when it shifts to 2nd gear.
...jaddajadda, bahbah... edit: Oops.. dunno what I was thinking there... it's ofcourse the first gear that has the one-way bearing. Misinformation removed, sorry.
