What?? Explain. I talked to Jason via chat tech support for three hours off and on once. As well as watched one of his youtube videos. He is an extremely nice guy.
Jason just stopped responding to my e-mails. Trying to get packs replaced that kept going WAY out of balance, he told me my setup was drawing to many amps. Packs in question where 2s 6000mah 20C. Should have been able to withstand 120A continuos and 180A bursts. Using BrianG's calc and some common sense told me I wasn't near that. If I could get 20 minutes out of a 6000mah pack my continuous was less than 20A and BrianG's calc estimated bursts 140A bursts. Alex wound up taking care of me, he replaced the packs with something that should hold up a bit better.

Ok,maybe Im looking at this the wrong way.But it seems by combining cells into a large capacity pack the c ratings must go down ,by design of the pack.Because of the increased runtime, and the cells sitting right on each other, you will get increased temps. So it would seem to me that combining the 2 you would have to drop the constant rating to make up for it.So if you used 20c 4000mah cells to make a 20c 8000mah pack, the pack would not actually be capable of that .As the pack itself would have to discharge at either twice the time,or twice the amps, either of which would cause more heat,in pack form.So to over come this they must drop the c rating some,to come up with an accurate pack rating. So because MA uses a single cell rating on there pack, the bigger the pack the further off there ratings became. Then a TRC 10c ,that alot claim are underated,Actually perform that good because to accurately make a 10c 8000mah pack, they use 15c cells,so it actually will do 80amps for 8000mah,but seems to perform better then that . This is just my theory, So please correct me where my thinking is askewed.

Yea considering the purchase price of some of the other manufacturers packs of the same or better size dealing with Maxamps is no longer neccessary. There are better rated packs for half what Maxamps charges, and problems with these packs seems to be much less of an issue from what we have been reading on most of the R/C sites. Maxamps is loosing ground quickly in competitive pricing, customer service reputation, dependability, and cost effectiveness. I have Maxamps packs myself, but due to the pricing issues alone with the poor economy it is just not worth bothering with them any longer. They need to work on their product, their customer services, and lower their prices if they want to survive, and keep our business.

i recently purchased some neu 6s 3200 25/50c packs and they run strong, and STAY balanced. plus i got two for the price of one MA 4000 and they are 70g lighter. less capacity but i use about 1000mah in 8 mins. so i can run two 5-7min quals. with one pack or a 15 min. main

i have always had a hard time keeping the cells balanced as well , so much for matching cells.......

anyway i needed one cell once , bad pack and wanted to rebuild, and was told that i couldnt just put one cell in because the cells are matched and it wont stay balanced......it never did from the get go , but the pack is going strong, as long as i dont discharge below 3.3vpc

they have some new hard case packs coming out from what i here , but for the price i will look elsewhere for packs , imho
