I've got my doubts about that motor as well, looks a bit underpowered but we'll find out soon enough. Sucks that your ESC actually caught fire though, that must've been a bit scary.

If you run it on the ground there's a lot more load put on the motor because it's got a 20+ pound RC to move around. Just keep the temps in check, if the motor can stay cool enough while bashing that's good.
