honestly, a VXL does not have enough power to push a slayer. a medusa 70mm 2000kv with a MMM on 4s-6s is the cheapest setup and has awesome temps and power, you get what you pay for. i would also not recommend purchasing maxamp as many believe they are overated and data supports this. try a couple 30c flightmax zippys http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...1&ParentCat=85
also. do you have a conversion kit?
idk about motor brakes with two speed. but locking into 2nd is the best option. why do you want two speed?
