A little update on those 8 2s packs for Electric Dave (and anyone who cares)

I have the 6000 and 5000 soft case cells assembled into 4s packs. All cells are balanced and ready to shrink.

Just have the hard case lipos to do. The 5000 cells in the soft case were identical to the HC ones, BTW.

And the deans plugs on those "jumper cables" is pretty funny. I guess if you really want to push the packs hard the huge wire is necessary, but you would have to use some big (6.5mm) bullets with them... I have run 4s and 6s setups hard, and never had a deans plug get hot or melt...

I just bought a new pair of the 5100 25c hard case lipos from HC... If you happen to be a platinum member they have a killer deal on them right now... worth taking a look...

And in case anyone is interested I do have a pair of 6000 2s 25c polyquest packs (identical to the ones pictured a few posts back) for sale. I ran them in the erevo with the 1515 1.5d and a MMM. Since I sold the truck and motor, I really do not need a 4s setup like this. Maybe 20-25 cycles on them, in perfect shape save for the std rubbed off writing on the label (all pq packs do this) Pm me if interested...

My friend uses something like that when he solderes copper plates together.

And when electric power isn't enough, he uses this -

Ok Electric Dave, all of your packs are assembled. Just need to shrink them and they can go back to you. I will put some pics up tomorrow after I shrink them up.

Let me say one thing, I really prefer enerland lipos over everything else. They are so easy to work on and the just exude quality... Good stuff.

Thanks very much for the progress report and the kudos on the Enerland brand. I like to think that you get what you pay for and while they are somewhat premium priced, they have always performed quite well.

Looking forward to the 4s packs!

Good to hear they arrived. Seems to be taking longer than the 2-3 days from Slidell these days. I guess the PO is slacking up on priority shipments.

Enerland definitely has strict QC on their packs. I have owned packs for just about all of the companies that use enerland cells and have had 1 pack with a bad cell. It was a well used pack, and I do not know if the previous owner balanced it...

I have had some fun trying to get the glue off... One pack is staying in balance well, the other has one bad cell, and it is the middle cell. I will try some low heat on the heat gun to melt the glue, but I may not be able to get it apart... I will keep trying.

I will take some pics of my various projects and post them up here. Should make everyone feel better about themselves....

I like to start tings, but get bored quickly. It took me a year to convert a lst (only took about 8-10hrs, but I spread it over a year). Once I get moving on a project it usually goes quickly. Except crawlers, they take forever to get just right...
