Question about the V.3 hybrid revo diffs

I have problem, I went to install the diffs in my revo and they are to short for my traxxas cvd's. I measured across my traxxas setup and it is 74.75 mm from the outside edge of one cup to the other. My new hybrid set up is 66.68 mm. So is it as easy as install the 6mm pins included with the kit and then install my traxxas drive cups? What axles/cvds are meant to be used with the kits stock drive cups?
