If you plan to use a 1527 I would go with a clamp style motor mount. I will run a pair of 1521 2y motors in mine, and just need to getthe critical measurements to the laser cutter. My motors will be stacked, so I needed a solid way to mount the motors in the same plane. Pinion selection is the worst part right now, I found some 12t pinions that are way too long, and still have to be drilled and tapped for set screws. The only benefit to the addl length is that I can adjust where the motors sit so that I can clear the front of the tranny case. I will hopefully have more work done on this project next week...
