a 1521 would work well, and it should bolt into your existing mount. do you know what speed you were geared for with the 1515? overgearing may well have been your problem

I agree with Harold. The 1521 should work ok for your truck. You really need to gear low for a first run to see how it heats up, and then gear up from there. If you want to try the 1527 that would give you some reserve power and keep your heat down some. Good luck with that.

TTHe 1527 would be nice but it the rear of the motor would interfere with the space I have set for the lipo.

gearing for 55 is why you burned the motor. thats way too fast, 40 is about tops for a monster truck, unless you have a huge motor and like 12s. Smaller tires will help. A medusa 80mm motor might be a good option, 6mm less in diameter than a neu. The kb45 would be even worse. Also, you could change just the input shaft on the tranny to the 4.6 input shaft and run the old style slipper (which i've used for brushless and has worked)

otherwise, a cd would be awesome and open up gearing options

a CD is what I'm looking for. I need the gearing options and the stock tranny wont let me do it. The slipperential on a custom mount... I better ask Mike.

Mike has made a cd for an MGT before. I believe it involves cutting the chassis rails a bit. It was very similar to the cd mount he makes for the e-maxx which requires some grinding of the chassis to fit. I would just wait for him to make his e-maxx mount, its design allows it to be used for a variety of
applications, and would easily be adapted to the MGT.

here is the best pic I have of his e-maxx cd/motor mount in my e-maxx

Hey now your just showing off Harold. Mike mentioned that he was going to produce some of those E-Maxx center diff mounts and I am still waiting on them. We all know he has been pretty busy getting things in order for the Slipperential, but we really need those center diff mounts so we can put it to use.

Hey Harold any progress on the CyberMaxx project? You should be getting back into the swing of things by now.

So did you use the 4.6 input shaft with the 4.6 bevel gears or did the 8.0 bevel gears fit on just fine?

I think I was geared to about 55mph with the 20t spur. The problem is in order for the mount to fit and gears to mesh right I had to get a 20t pinion. Anything smaller and the gears wouldnt even touch. It wasnt actually the mount but it was the can itself touching the back of the tranny case. No way around it and they dont make larger spurs for the MGT 8.0 tranny. I dont think this was an issue with the 4.6 but I need the 8./0 since it has all metal gearing. The 4.6 tranny wouldnt stand a chance.
