Freezebyte - I highly doubt you could have afforded your Flux at 12...

After owning 2wd 1/10's for way to long, and Mini's, my tastes have switched to a much more expensive car.

Your missing the point completely. If I wanted something, I worked my butt off for the money and saved up for it, my parents only helped me so much. I bought a used but high end Losi XXT 2WD Stadium truck back in 1995 before I even could have a legal job since I was still only 15. Took me several months to get around $500 to pay for it, but I did it.

So don't give me that excuse. Selling your RC stuff because you've had a change in hobby taste is one thing, but creating an excuse about it being to expensive is utter BS, your making up your own false reasoning to justify it to yourself.

I could have. But I bought a schwinn predator with z-mags and a acs pro rotor. Bitchin' bike! (I wasn't into r/c then) The point is I walked beans, mowed lawns, helped my dad at the parts store and saved saved saved.

If you're not into r/c then get out. My point is there are always "better" things you can spend your money on, and there's usually more you can do to make money.

Only you know what you want to do, no forum member can decide your life for you. (unless you're suicideneil and it's the traxxas forum)

I fucking hate that forum and its nazi moderators When I was asking questions about my Revo two years ago I got a week ban because I brought up some issues with the diffs and I wanted another brand part replacement.

that's what makes this small forum so great. the moderators on this site aren't strict at all. i'm now slowly leaning away from rcuniverse and towards rcm.

ok, being on topic: i am only 16 and i have a bl savage, t-maxx 2.5, rustler vxl, and a KM baja that needs a new diff. i pay for almost all of my stuff. i made $400-500 mowing lawns last year. so far this year, i've made only $50, but i am looking for a job. you should just do what i did. take a 5-6 month break and once you have some money saved up, start a project. i did that and my project was my bl savage. it ran its maiden voyage today and sure, there are still some things that need to be worked out, but the satisfaction of seeing a nitro truck being run for the first time as electric is amazing. also, try using budget parts.

i spent $30 for my savage's esc and $30 for a used KB motor ($55 new). you don't HAVE to get a cc-neu setup.

the MMM combo costs $260
my setup cost me $60.

you have 2 years to get a car, just set aside half of your money for that car and use the rest for w/e you want.

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.
