I've used the oven method a few time's and like it. It doesn't melt a plastic wheel(allthough velo disc's may do just that) and both wheel and tire + insert are re-usable.

Allthough i've used a slightly different way. Put the tire's in the oven and set the temp at 180 degrees.(200 degrees for alum rim's) When the oven is at it's temp, take out the tire's and try to remove them. They should come loose, if not, throw em back in for 5 min's and try again.

Be warned. It does smell nasty, so it is adviced to clean your oven before cooking any food in it. You may not like rubber taste on your pizza.
