Butt joint the wires- just tin them up, offer them up to eachother, then apply the iron et voila, nice solid and straight joint. If this is an MMM v3, then I would do that with those wires that plug into the esc, so you essentially have long leads coming directly from the motor with the 6.5mm bullets on the end that plug into the esc.

You can also buy special butt joint connectors (ebay)- stick the wires in either side then offer up the iron- creates a solid tube that covers & protects the joint.
