Is it fast enough? Most here run about 35-40k rpms on their MT setups. I have run motors closer to 50k for lighter vehicles, 10th scale and 1/8 buggies, but those motors were smaller/lighter...
Holding it in my hand I have a feeling it will easily eclipse the power my neu 1521 1y on 6s puts down. That is a 1600kv motor on 6s, so not beating 40k rpms... The 1717 will have more torque than the 1521, but may spool up slightly slower. I have a feeling it will really weed out the crap lipos though, hope the 40c zippies can keep up.
I need to get suspension back under my lst and give this bad boy a try, My 2nd tdr mount came in, and this one has the m4 sized front plate so I can run my 1717 without the rcm thread adapter plate. I will get it together at work tomorrow and post some pics of the motor correctly mounted with the new tdr plate and the 25/63 gearing.
Hope to have the battery tray made up and the truck running by christmas!
