Meh, animals are animals. Not much else to say. They lack the little tiny bit of common decentcy we have, plus they are usually not aware or their own strength.

I have a Toby (american eskimo+poodle+godknowswhat=Toby) and he is a great guy. He is a huge help in my house in that he will attempt to keep the furnitre from floating away should gravity fail. He also serves as the door bell, alerting me if anyone is outside (or within 500 miles of the house). He also keeps the wheels on my grill shiny, and has booby trapped the side gate with some "Toby Treats" (just try getting that off your shoe).

I watch him alot, as he has a ton of personality and is very intelligent and perceptive. He always knows when I am feeling down, and will snuggle with me to cheer me up. He also loves to play, especially tug. But at the end of the day he is a dog. About the worst thing he has done is bit my hand, but I was hitting him for crapping on the carpet. He did not really mean to bite me, he was just scarred and I had him in a corner. He will pee on the curtains if I leave him in all day, which is fine case they wash easily. I could get mad, but he knows when he has done wrong and hides in his little indoor kennel.

You cannot really blame a dog, they are trainable but still have instincts. Toby could care less if I fool with his food, must mean he is never hungry.

My parents had a lab/chow mix that would not eat his food unless you pretended to go for it. He would growl and bark, but wag his tail the whole time. It was his favorite game. I guess some dogs are just different. You could take his food away while he was eating it and he just did not care.

Sorry to hear about the cat, bet it looked like that chainsaw maid claymation stuff...
