I'm not sure that I will be using the maxx motor mount plate - I may end up putting the motor on a seperate mount so it faces the tranny and lines up down the center of the rig. Ok, sounds like the erevo motor mount setup would work better for you. It is a bit stronger, but I would like to see an al case for that tranny as it does trake the motor weight however. Sounds like you have the other bases covered. Have fun with your build!

You can but they would be very small and I doubt you will fit smaller than 22t spurs, maybe not even that small if you plan to run a finned neu sized motor. The rustler 48p gears are closer to the size of the revo mod 1 spurs.
