Hi,
Maybe, not sure on these newer ones. Brake option says: Brake (Default None/Soft/Hard). With the older 100amp sent/pulsar type esc'c they had option of on or off. It was horrible in my first car conversion, either full brake or none. But, in a boat with brake option on, it is awesome. Brake option off with a big outrunner on a boat, the spool down is a very nice sound.
I have not tried soft brake esc's and do wonder myself would it be like a percentage setting like drag braking?
I'll tell you this too. When we first put the oemrc pulsar 100amp opto into 1/8 car, the acceleration was just as violent as my Monster. But as you say, mechanical brakes.
