Can you recommend a place? Think they'll hold up to braking from 120mph? Up to 150 (speed I'm shooting for)?

I have been using fibreglass disks with no pads. The disks I have used are stock disks from X1-CR-FT, X1-CRT-X1-CRT-RTR. Hong Nor spare part number is XT-16, don't know if the Jammin part number is the same. The mount is the same so no further modifications required.

I also used these pads and also on the front and rear center dogbone when using the 2-speed. It is also possible to use brake in front and rear on GT, it just requires long screws and as the rear brake goes too far away use old calibers and pads or something similar as a spacer.

I really like the brake force of fibreglass disks. You could even use these nicely enough with the stock Perfex transmitter. Brake force is better than with the stock pads but as there is no pads and fibreglass it allows a bit of skidding, so there is just a small amount of wheel locking if not at all. Most of drivers I know who are using the Kyosho acre pads, also use the ABS function. Which might not be good considering servo lifetime. Brake force with acre pads is awesome.

It would be nice to see a photo of burnt disk. I have also had earlier a Pureten Alpha which also had a plastic brake disk. I don't know what idea it is to use a plastic disk.

Are you sure the GRPs are made still? I thought they were discontinued? Last time I checked they weren't on Losi's site or Horizon. Eventually I hope to have this car over 150 so I'm not sure if running off straight disks will hold. Thoughts? And thanks for the info on pads.

BTW...did you guys see this? New 2 speed tranny for the GT2. http://kyoshoamerica.com/news.php?article_id=240

Ah, gotcha...Losi and Horizon just stopped distributing them. Thanks for the heads up.

No I'm sorry but don't have any shots with the body on. And I won't take before I buy a new body. It just doesn't look good when there is brushless conversion car with the body that has all the dirt made by nitro engine and the extra cooling holes made for the engine also.

Probably the reason why Losi and Horizon stopped distributing those was this. I don't have any facts but I think so.

Xtreme Racing make them for the mp777, I'm not 100% but guess they would fit the IGT2, or theres the time consuming but economical option of taking a Dremel to a sheet of CF.

Hot Bodies Lightning 2 Pro carbon, Mega 22/30/2, MMM, 4s3-5Ah.
Tamiya F201 carbon, Mamba 7700, MM, 2s A123 2.3ah.
Xray XT8, 1518, MMM, 4s5Ah.

Castle MMM and 2200 - 04.12.2010, 08:40 PM

Just my 2 cents. I am running Castle MMM 2200 combo in my GTP and it is a beast on 5s. I don't even want imagine 6s but I will soon enough. Even on foams I get no traction. It is fun to drift though.
