If it were a 1515 sized motor then I'd say that would probably do the trick, but being a 1518 motor Im not so sure...

The lower kv is a good idea for sure if you're having to tone things down presently, so I'd say look at either a true neu 1515 2d or 2.5d, or look into a tekin truggy motor in that ~1800kv range. Thats my feeling anyway, but I could be wrong..

Thanks SN, appreciate the advice but are the Tekin motors now viable....I've read too many posts about rotors failing?

So you say one of these might fit the bill to tone things down and get me more runtime using my existing 4S packs and MMM:

Neu-Castle 1518 1Y 1800kv motor is perfect for Monster trucks and offers more controllability and torque than the higher kv 2200.
