any plastic spur gears that fit the crt x2?

I would agree that it sounds like there is another issue if you are going through pinions like that. Something in the drivetrain is causing all that extra wear. If you switch to a plastic spur you might just end up replacing spurs every 5 runs if the underlying issue doesn't get resolved.
