Yea. That's the gear. Makes a huge difference with how the truggy turns in off power and how it exits the corner on power.

The other thing I'll say is don't go to high in the diff oils. I run 5/7/3 in mine and love it. I see alot of guys running alot heavier than that and it forces you to dive alot more agressive to get the car to handle. Of course that is just preference.

I had a friend of mine that drives a losi 8t test my car out last weekend during practice because I was turning some really fast laps and he couldn't pull the same times. He took the wheel of my xt8 and on his second lap around the track beat his best time with his car by a full second! Needless to say he bought an XT8 the next day. Lol.

The XT8 is a machine!

Indeed! I just finished building my XT8e with the new Rx box and it is such a clean setup! Great job Mike!

Is that your truck jhautz? What spur gear are you running on the slipperential? What is a good setup for shocks? The stock setup seems really light!

My truck. Used to be JHautz's spare xt8, but I got tired of him and another xt8 guy beating my SLowsi 8t 2.0, so I doubled down and picked up an xt8.

The slipperential spur is Mike's Delrin/plastic spur. 48t tooth. Running 6s/1400kv buggy motor. Works really well and very effient. Running less than 200mah/minute which is phenomenal in a truggy.

Cool! Thanks for the info! What battery are you using? I bought a 5s 5000mah Hyperion and the dang thing wont balance properly (3rd cell goes over a .25v difference while charging). Hopefully I will receive a replacement in a week or so. Could you possibly shed any light on suspension setup?

I really don't know yet. I have only had it on the track once and I had no idea what oils were in the suspension. I haven't had enough track time with it yet to be able to offer any credible setup advice with the xt8.

I put 35wt in the front and 30wt in the back with blue springs. Still trying to figure it out myself!

Truck drives good though and I think it will be dialed after a one or two more race days.

Handles much more like a buggy than my Losi. Turns in on a dime and is very stable. I can push it much harder and it seems to actually handle better the more I drive balls to the wall.

I am using Hobbycity packs. Normally use a 6s 2650 or 6s 4000. You may want to check your charger settings to make sure it is calibrated if you are getting one cell charging too high.

That happened to me on my 6s packs, I would get one cell over charging about .2 volts. I figured out it was the charger and there was a way to calibrate it.

I checked the manual for my charger (Thunder Power 610C) and I didn’t see a calibration settings. It was actually .25v below the rest of the cells and the charger would have a temper tantrum and stop the charge. My 2s and 3s packs charge fine and are balanced. I also verified the packs condition with a volt meter so the charger isn’t crazy (I don’t think so at least ). The manual recommended charging at .5 amp but I still had the same issue. Because of all this I am fairly sure it’s the battery (just a fluke and my luck). It’s ok though, Mike is taking care of it for me. I can't wait to get my truck running!

I'm running 46T slipperential, a 1550 tekin motor and 5s. 15T pinion for small tracks and 16T for big tracks. Ive been stuck on this motor battery combo for a long time now. It just works so nice I cant bring myself to bother with trying oher setups.

I actuially like the light stock shock setup if its a rough track. For smoother/higher traction surfaces I go up about 5-10wt front and rear and then go 1 spring heavier in the front. (purple I think)

Thanks for the info! I will be running a electronics setup very similar to yours. All that is left to do is paint the body. I can't wait to race this summer!
