Strange noise comming from my monster

redshift-i rolled my car without the pinion gear on the motor down my drive at 20-25mph with no sound. but when the pinion is on, the noise appears but is a LOT more noticable wile holding the same speed or coasting, i can't even hear it when i'm on the gas or brake much.
