Thinking of building a bl Revo

Okay on kicking the idea. I thought the thunder packs had the 4000 mah. You can get the 2 x 3s 4000 for a 6s combo. the lower mah helps drop the price some to. Just to help kick the idea some.

I'd just be a little concerned about the 4000 making runtime. 4000 mah in a 20 minute main, It'd have to draw only 200mah per minute. If my calcualtions are right that would only be pulling 266 watts at a 12 amp average draw! Seems low for such a big truck moving at high speed.

That's not including a warm up lap or two that I'd like to be able to make and the fact that I'd need to make 20 and change. Hmmmm Decisions:002:

Maybe I should just look at the Maxamps 6000mah 3S packs. They're only $119.99.

Thats a pretty good deal TBH, and its much cheaper than the 2s2p 8000mah packs. It's not voltage that damages controllers, its current. You stand a bigger risk damaging your controller with 4s lipo and a hotter motor, than you do with 6s and a high turn motor.

With 6Ah of charge in those packs you will have absolutely know problem doing a couple of warm up laps, followed by a 20minute main, followed by a couple of victory laps (after you smoke those nitros) :D:D:D

Current, eh? High voltage could actually be more likely to kill a controller than high amps, since these controllers usually have thermal shutdowns caused by the heat produced when a lot of current is drawn. High voltage can actually damage the components, and that is a huge reason why there are capacitors on the input of controllers like the Warriors and MGMs.

Still you wouldn't want your controller to thermal in the middle of a 20minute main.

Coolhand, the thunderpower pack can be got in 8000 mah size
