I was initially put off by them too, but after running my 8T with the long shank pinion, I've been really happy with it. Kinda prefer having two grub screws now.

I can build them no problem. It is the factories that I am still wrestling with. They don't understand winding diagrams (or english for that matter), and there is a 1/3 chance that they can still wind it right but place the sensors wrong. The other 2/3 chance is basically CW and CCW rotation with a bit of phase retermination.
