I made a monster cap bank for my bike. Bike is way more responsive now at launch and no more power cutoff at startup. I used 19 100V 1500uF caps.




6 KiloWatt A123 Racer

24s2p EVG SX 49.6mph Ebike.

Very interesting. When I first spotted the CAP bank I was thinking what in the hell is he going to use that one. That would be one hell of an R/C addition. Anyway great idea adding the CAP bank to you ebike. I guess that was cheaper than just getting one big of two medium size CAPs to do the same job? I just saw that there are more & more applications being thought up for using CAPs instead of batteries now. If only they could get the speed and high power of the CAP combined with the longevity of a good battery. That would make for a very good energy storage unit. Thanks for sharing your techniques, because I am learning all sorts of stuff through some of these home made ideas.
