I have used Drano and Easy Off on aluminum. 20 minutes is what I do. I have never pitted a part. The parts will be dull and gray when you remove them, just clean it up with some sand paper. Start with like 300 and move to 1000 until it looks shiny. lol I think overnight would do damage. I would be surprised if 1 hour would do damage.

I still haven't gotten any of that alumibright to try on heat colored titanium yet.
