Oh, dont worry. Well, if you were there in the late 70s and early 80s, you'll know that electric 1/10th scale 4wd buggies were the most popular category in the r/c world. AE were the leaders in the field. KYOSHO, YOKOMO and many other manufacturers were fierce rivals, too. However, though Tamiya were not competitive at all, even when they brought out the Avante and the Avante2001( the most advanced buggies at that time and the most expensive) to go against its rivals, their buggies were the most beloved and the most desired to date. From the Frog to the HotShot to the Top Force Evolution to the Avante2001, they're like rare stones today and if you were able to find any of it, it wont be sold for less than 400-500 dollars ( some of it were sold for more than 1700 dollars in auctions, if you can believe it). Those days were the days that r/c electric 4wd buggies were at its peak. Recently, AE are not interested in releasing a 4wd buggy simply because it has no place in the market or so they said. But, with the Japanese companies- after more than 10 years with no 1/10 elec. buggies- are returning back to the stage, I feel that the excitement of the past will return again.
However, 1/10th 4wd buggies wont be as popular because of all the new categories available today from 1/8 buggies to truggies to racing monster trucks. That's what I was trying to keep behind the sentence " history is repeating itself".

The name is Alawi. You can call me Al.
Nice to meet you!

I hope history does repeat itself,i'd love an egress but it'd probably end up sitting on a shelf considering what they're worth.A new Egress or TRF version of the DF-03 would be soooo sweet.I'm thinking of getting a Dark impact and making some CVDs or some stub axles and diff outdrives to use sliders.

The dark impact platform looks like it chould be mega fast, ignorant folks may scoff at the shiny plastic but all i see is a great layout.
The only company that i think could make a better buggy than if tamiya really tried is Losi, they already have the platform to do it in the JRXS,someone at Losi is obsessed with getting weight close to the centre line.(LST,8ight,JRXS)
