blackhawk444,
I saw your post at RCE about runtimes, and wanted to post a reply here (you won't get much friendly help at RCE's forum when it comes to brushless...believe me, I know).
You asked how long you'd need to be able to run to race with the nitro 1/8th buggies. There will be either 2 or 3 qualifiers of 5 minutes each, then a main of 15 minutes. You'll be hard-pressed to make the 15-minute main with 12 nimh cells. I would guess that the best you'd get out of even 4200mah nimh cells in race conditions would be about 10 minutes. You'd almost definitely need a battery swap during the main, which will take quite a bit longer than a nitro re-fueling. If you could design some sort of quick-swap system for the batteries, that would be a benefit.

I'm hopeful that my 4s lipo at 6400mah will make it, but I have yet to test it out since I'm waiting for electronics.

Electronics run on smoke... if you let the smoke out, they stop working.
