The aluminum hexes help out. A set of aluminum rims won't strip either.
I like the 23mm hexes the best. Dace is the best. I have a set proline and have the pin turn 90 degrees inside the hex.

JB is pretty strong, but I believe you can pry it out.

I purchased JB weld today and will try it. It's alot cheaper then Dace adapters, 23mm wheels and new tires.

I will let you guys know what happens :)
