what kind of esc are you going to use?

possible esc's would be: Schulze 40160 or bk will bring out a new 250 amp esc. desgined for the lehner 30' series this year...


A fg marder would never have a chance against a 3080 (perhaps on 12 cells:025: ) i have seen a powerboot with 2 lehner 3060 on about 220 cells this was awesome, the air smells like power;)
But we are not talking about boats! a 3080 has a very high resistance because of its large rotor so when the car starts running the esc and batts would get too hot.

To build up a 1:6 car with such a motor could be doable, but a 3040 would more than oversized!! The Motor in this case isn't the limiting factor of power, the room and physik make the limits...
I have already the idea to convert a 1:6 car to a muscle car. So i had told to a friend who build up 1:6 cars since many years about my idea and he said that you need a 4WD car do get the power on the ground. A big problem is the immense torque of a 3080... A FG marder wouldn't have a chance, no way!

Remember, its not an everyday car, more of a drag.

That's clear... the challenge isn't to build up a car that runs very good on a track (this would be really impossible) but to get a car which can handle the power. For a large motor you can modified every car but for a monster like the 3080 you need a complete selfmade car which is constructed for THIS motor. The car need to be balanced out very good, the centre of gravity must be in the right rate, you need a good steering and a trained pilot, a bullet proof transmission... all parts must be machined very precisely to minimate vibrations and friction
->heat->wear...
too much dirt or vibrations will kill the motor!! Remember the motor is originally build for boats.

The "traditional" way of transmission with spurgear+pinion has in this case no chance too, every pinion will be to weak (in powerboats you haven't any transmission, you only have the motor and a long driveshaft to the "propeller"..)
You could put the motor directly to diffs but they also will not stand the power...


And imagine how much great cars you could build up with the money (perhaps 8000-10000$) you spend for this one.
