Question 02.16.2007, 01:51 AM

but wait a minute, will i be able to decently drive the truck on 6s and 10XL?
cuz i dont want it to be like my XXX-T MF2 with MM5700 and 2s lipo.
that one is crazy difficult to keep straith.
it just does big burnouts every time you gun it.
also, would 10XL on 22.2volt accelerate faster then 8XL on 14.8volt?
even if the top end is the same?
also, how does the li-saver works, does he automaticly adjust when changing from 4s to 6s?
does it even work on 6s?
thanks, mike.

They are pretty much the same. Warrior Micro....etc.
As far as 14.8 on 10xl, you do not want this as the volts are too low for that KV rating. 14.8 on 8xl would not be bad at all. The acceleration would be good. 14.8 on a 10xl, the motor would be trying to draw too much. The volts don't have teh "punch" they need to push that low of a KV. Keep in mind the formula with volts and KV calculation for RPM's...14.8 would not be that great on a 9xl either unless you bumped your gearing up. A 10xl definately would be a lot for the 4s to push good.
The top end should be pretty decent and should stay controllable. You can go 5s and the motor (10xl) will be more than happy. This is what I run on mine and I have good temps and a great dependable system.
The li Saver will automaticlly cut off for you when using the lipo, just wire accordingly (like ubec kinda) and you are golden.

that makes sence.
but is that actually because of the motor's resistance?

Honestly, that one I cannot answer. I think it has to do with the rating of the motor, what it's capabilities are as far as amps, volts, etc. which may be due to the resistence factor in some ways. But the motors are built for certain KV's. There's a lot to this and gets real technical which I cannot get into. But, let's say for example you try the 10xl on 4s. It will run poorly and most likely get hot. Remember, you want the motor to be running around 30-35,000 RPMS technically, which 14.8 won't reach. Now, an 8xl on 4s would give you decent run times and what not. It's rated to handle or "do" the lower voltage, this is due the the number of winds...8 vs 10 and the kv rating...if this makes sense. I know it's a bad explination, but this is the best I can do without knowing all the technical stuff.

thanks for trying.
many thanks for that.
but i kinda start to understand now, you cant make a truck go slower then certain speeds with BL it seems.
so if i would want good performance ( temps, runtime, response time, ... ),
i have to get to a certain speed on a certain motor.
so on 6s it would work well with 10XL and on 4s it would work good with 7 or 8XL.
wich would now accelerate faster given the correct gearing and top end?
