Those are adapters so the servo saver will work with different servo types.
As far as plastic gears stripping I'm not sure what you mean.The metal geared servos usually have plastic gears in one place at the bottom of the stack and it could strip I suppose but have never seen one go before and I've repaired dozens of servos in my airplanes..metal and plastic geared.
