Good to know. I haven't had a chance to go through my buggy yet.

If you are wanting that answer-rc rear brace, give the usa site an email and see what they can do to hook u up with a discount for the part. I got one on the way now!

Reading up on the Hyper 9, a mod that I am going to do / have done is to use the hyper 8.5 upper a-arms . From what people are saying, once you do this mod, the lower arms seem to hold up better, and, in general you don't break the upper a-arms.

I'll be boiling my front arms upper and lower.

Diff fluid suggestions - 05.21.2009, 12:04 PM

I have been keeping track of this tread, so much so I ended up buying a Hyper 9E this week. I am fairly new to buggies and was wondering if anyone had any suggests that the diff fluids be changed. I am just bashing around with mine, no racing, so I would just like good level acceleration (No unloading by the front diff on hard take offs) . Any help would be appreciated.

I race, and I run 5000 at the front, 5000 in the middle and 3000 at the rear. I may not be running as powerful a set up as some, but this stops it from wheelying on high grip surfaces, yet does not unload the diff too much.

I went ahead and placed an order for a variety of spares, and I am going to do the Hyper 8.5 upper front A-arm mod.

Should finally get to sit down with my Hyper 9 when I come home sunday night.

Ok, finished up the 9e today. Now do I take her on her first test drive at the track or wait on the skidplates?

Made a few changes today. Took out the receiver mount and put the esc directly on the chassis. Now with 6s pack I am just under 8lbs (7lbs 15.5oz)

I raced mine again last night with the 2200 mamba in it and it is pulling
270ma a min any ideas on another motor that will improve my run times that I don't have to turn all of the settings way down to run?
I am trying for 20 min on a 5000mah battery

Probably a 1600kv Medusa 70mm, or the 1550kv Tekin. I'm going to try the 1700kv Tekin tonight, but the smallest pinion I can fit comfortably is a 16 tooth. I'm also going to find out if the Xray XB808 42 tooth spur will fit.

Not really. The only way to get more run time from the motor would be to:
  1. Increase Efficieny (not easy as the Castle Motors are basically Neus)
  2. Decrease kV (and therefore speed)
  3. Go for a slightly smaller motor (but not too small, as it might not be man enough, and will cause heat buildup, and therefore decreased efficiency)

Only thing is, none of these is likely to be enough. According to your readings (270mAh per minute) a 5000mAh pack will get you 18 minutes and 30 seconds. That's assuming that the pack drains completely to 0mAh, which it won't.

I would go with some of the measures above, and a slightly larger battery (like a 5300mAh).

yup right at the pin.

I was hoping they had aluminum caps. My plastic ones are already showing a lot of where from a few flips on the street. Wish I had seen those before I order some more plastic ones.
