The Trinity motor is manufactured by CC, The 280 sized motor features a long rotor for added torque, and 3 zero loss connectors that accept power from the ESC.
That is what Xtreme RC/RC411 said when they did the review on the NOW.

It's a feigao motor. I already went through one of them after the rotor decided to grenade on me for no apparent reason (used it within spec) and had to send it in to Trinity. It also has the classic "windings coming out of the can" in the typical feigao colors. The front also has the little bearing nub, whereas the CC motors are flat on the front endbell.

The ESC is made by Castle Creations, but not the motor.

On a side note, the Trinity motor in the NOW SUCKS. As I already said before, the rotor went on me from normal usage (slipper set so that it slipped about a half a foot, no drivetrain binding, stock gearing from the factory, proper gear mesh, etc.). The replacement motor I got runs just as hot as the first one (up to 180F after about 5 minutes with the stock pinion). I ordered a 4200kv 20x45mm for the NOW with fins on the can from hobby city. I may lose some speed, but so be it. As long as it runs cooler. The thing was a little too fast to use anyways off road.

The MM and 3S, yes, the Trinity motor, not so much since you'll have to gear it down to account for it's smaller size and lack of torque. I still think you need to consider what batteries will actually fit in the tray on the Rage. I think you may be surprised just how limited few will fit without a lot of mods.

It ran with ease on the Trinity now on 3s. Got a little hot after a hrd run but overall it impressed me.

With it being 20mm diameter, it's smaller than most motors folks are running in the Vendetta, Mini Quake and Rages these days. 28mm diameter is more the norm for big power.

Also, the difference is that the Now is geared to run 40mph on 3S with that 5000kv motor. I've got my Mini Quake doing about 38mph on 2S in my Mini Quake with temps under 110F for the motor. Running 3S on the setup I have would be more what I would consider "overkill".

Its not going to be outstading but it always managed to get the Now on its back quite easily.

IMO your not getting overkill in an 18th scale untill you get the vehicle going over 60 mph, for those of you who have never seen the small 1/18th scale go that fast you are missing something....

im not saying it isnt possible because ive seen videos. im saying it is unrealistic to actually bash with one of those cars.

all you are doing is speed runs in the street/parking lots, but since the car is smaller it gives the apperance that it is actuall faster than it really is
