Well it depends on how you look at fast to. If you look at fast as over all speed or if you look fast as overall accelleration. Nitro is nice as far as the speed and accelleration. The brushless is faster in the accelleration department. It has good speed to. It really depends on the person.
Peace!

I like to consider it in terms of power to weight ratio, with BL/lipo having the edge over nitro. If you take the weight of the Nitro(engine, engine mounts, pipe, tank,RX pack, clutch assembly, servo)then BL/Lipo (packs, esc motor, motor mount) can come in under that weight with power to spare.A BL/NiMH can't beat nitro for power:weight but has an abundance of instant torque that usually see off Nitro in a straight line.I think the power delivery of nitro has it's advantages too.

No problem with going, stopping worries me, ouch
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

The way I see it, electric has way more potential than nitro. Nitro is limited by fuel, and electric by the batteries. Nitro fuel can't really be improved much (except nitromethane %), but batteries are getting better every day.

wouldn't the esc be more limiting than the batts? well - currently anyways..... i mean - you can always have massive voltage batteries or whatnot in some rc, but you still need the esc to run those batts.......
spose batts are limiting too with size and weight?....
i dont really knwo what i'm talking about, so dont mind me -lmao-

With Lipos you can get really high voltages, and then match those with a 36cell NiMh controller (up to 11s Lipo), and you have a setup that is far superior to nitro. The maintenance would also be a lot less, but the cost would be greater (there is a price for superiority).
