I keep coming into this thread to look at that mount. That is RC pr0n pure and simple.
That mount, slipperential + Savage= sexy goodness lol

Seriously tho... still holdin onto the nitro in my XL as I piece things together to convert. I really don't want a locked tranny, don't want to go full flm, and a slipdiff would be perfect. Put the motor going forward, and stuff the back w/ batts. Booyaa.

It will work fine in the SC8 - the GTP uses a funky 19mm bearing, so finding an 8x19mm bearing will be the challange. I think using an 8x16 bearing with a 3mm press-in delrin ring (bearing spacer basically) would be the easiest plan of action for the GTP. The GTP will likely ned some shimming as well, nbut this could be done in one shot by building the shim into the bearing spacer. :)

I was just going to replace the diff braces in my GTP... If I can find some with a similar bolt pattern it would be nice, otherwise a little drilling doesn't bother me. Does anyone have an idea what would be a suitable replacement?

The front is 18mm wide, the rear is 11mm, and the holes are centered L/R. *Edit* Would this bearing work? It's 6mm wide, is that extra 2mm going to be a problem or is there a need for lateral shimming?

Are those 5mm width? Do you know the end-to-end length of the slipperential (inside the bearings)? I swear I've seen it mentioned but I cant find it again...

The slipperential fits the XRay XT8 truck perfectly, no mods required at all, direct drop-in (mikes chassis brace installed)
