I'm hoping to be testing this weekend, but I have a bunch of other stuff going on too. If I can get that stuff out of the way I'm going to get it up and running. If not, it may be another week or so.

That is a different approach to mounting up the electronics, but I kinda like it- everything has a specific place, its not just stuck down where-ever.

Thanks! I just sat down with it and my foam core mock ups once I had all the nitro stuff striped off and started thinking about where everything would fit. I also wanted to be able to access everything without having to remove a bunch of brackets, as well as making everything as compact as possible while using only the stock mounting holes and tabs. I also didn't want to modify my chassis incase I ever wanted to go back to nitro on this one. It took some thought and several paper versions, but I finally figured out how to make it happen. I can access, remove or work on any part of the truck without removing anything I added. I guess it helps that I'm a designer/architect by trade and spend a lot of time thinking about how to make things work conceptually then how to make it happen in the real world.

I actually started the kitchen last night, so I'm good there too. But your right, gotta keep the little woman happy so my RC addiction can get fed. :D

I managed to get everything installed and programmed today. Thanks to all you guys for helping me out, I couldn't have done it without you. I'm hoping to have it on the wheels tomorrow after work for the real test in the back yard. If all goes well, I'm planning on being at the track on Tuesday to see how it handles that. Wish me luck. :D

FWIW: The mini Deans are plenty for the UBEC - no need to use full size Deans plugs. They won't hurt though. :)

Gah, so many wires! But thats still rather tidy. Which motor is that, and how much does she weigh all-up?

I thought about the Dean's minis, but had the Us on hand so I decided not to wait. I guess over kill isn't a bad thing though. :)

It's a Feigao/Wanderer/Nemesis 9XL. I'm not sure what it weighs yet, I don't have a scale at home, but it's still a LOT lighter than my E-Maxx. I"m hoping to stay around 10 to 10 1/2 pounds when it's all done.

Well, she's come to life! The initial test runs in the yard were great! Lots of speed and more power than the CFs can put to the ground. I'm going to have to play with the slipper to get it to hook up. I'm heading to the track tomorrow to see how much I can tear up there. :D

Seriously, I kept popping axle carriers about once every battery pack. I do tend to powerslide around corners a lot so that puts some lateral stress on them. Once I installed the RPM axle carriers, I haven't had a problem since. You may want some RPM arms and maybe stiffer springs as well...

I already made those upgrades. I have RPM arms and carriers all the way round. I added stiffer springs back a couple of months ago when I was chaisng the chassis set up as a nitro truck. I'm running blue (5.9) rears and sliver (4.9) up front. I did find an old scale in the shed and it's telling me with 14 cells I'm at 11 1/2lbs. That's about a 1 1/2lbs. more than I was shooting for, but I don't know where I could cut anything. I'm stoked and she's running great. I'm going to get the fans mounted tonight and do the front end alignment and get ready to take her to the track tomorrow. I hope I'm not the only Revo there. :005:

To lighten things, try drilling some holes in non-needed places on your added brackets. Also, going with lipos would help. ;)

I thought about some speed holes. :D Probably will do that as soon as I tear it down again. The lipos will happen eventually too, as soon as the budget permits. I'm going to get one more set of nimh 7 cell IBs, then I'll start the conversion to lipo, starting with a nice charging system, then the batts.

Thanks for all your help and advice Brian, you saved me a lot of time and money I'm sure! Especially the data base and technical info. That was a lot of work to compile and I appreciate it.
