CRT.5 servo saver alternative? - 03.21.2008, 01:20 AM

Has anyone found an alternative to the stock CRT.5 servo saver and steering system. At one time there was an ofna aluminum version for about $100, but I can't even find that one anymore. Maybe someone has found a system from another car that fits the CRT.5 and is stronger?

I tried that myself, but with the RCM extended chassis the car looses a lot of steering in that setting. I think the aluminum steering knuckles have a 2nd mounting hole that quickens the steering back up when using the inner hole on the servo saver. I might drill a second hole in my plastic knuckles to see if I can get similar results.

What I'm hoping to find is a stronger servo saver from a slightly bigger car/truck like the Hot Boddies LS10. Has anyone tried something like that ?

I don't run a servo saver. That fixes it. I've got the all-mighty $8 HXT-12KG servo from hobbycity; which has metal gears. It works great. Comes with a few servo arms.... Pic - http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p...1/S7301747.jpg

the billet servo saver is available, i got mine frome Kamikaze Toys and Hobbies.nitrohouse is also a good place however its only the idler side and the lower on the servo side. The upper right side still uses the plastic kit part witch kind of makes it a fancy $125 waist. However the guys who run OFNA have been testing at the track were i run and i broke one wile they were watching me run and they took the part and said they were sending it back to china for a redesign .So we will see?
