odd lipo problem - 08.27.2009, 08:15 PM

I have a set of 2s 5200mah ctech/rcm packs that i purchased around christmas time. They have served me well since- but today while running my losi 8ight buggy i came across an odd problem. One of the packs had puffed temps of the batteries were hovering right around 100 degrees, after sitting for an hour or so the swelling started to go away. after charging them slowly(while balancing) I threw the problem pack into my slash and the same thing happened. come to find out that they are 2s2p packs and one cell must have well below 3v and cause the rest of the cells to be pushed out.

What would cause this? I dont wanna have to put my best packs out of there misery

Yea, well, maxamps is selling their 2s2p at 140+, which to me is way steep for that battery.
