GA Skid with FLM E-Maxx chassis? -
06.30.2006, 12:34 AM
Does anyone know if the "Titanium SuperMaxx Center Skid Plate" from Great Assembly will fit the FLM extended chassis for the e-maxx?

Any skid that fits the stock emaxx center skid area should fit the FLM chassis, including GA. :)

Yes they fit. As Mike said. I have the GA skids, and used to have two types of FLM chassis, the extended and the reg. Now the gorilla, they work with all.

Thanks for the quick replies!! It looks like any of the small center skid plates will fit but I was wondering about the 3/4 style plates like the RPM version that I have on the truck right now. If I put that skid plate on the extended chassis I would think that the part that angles down along the chassis braces towards the rear skid plate will just hang down in space because the FLM chassis braces are 35 mm longer on the extended chassis.
On the GA Site it shows they make regular and the Supermax center skid plates. I was thinking that since read somewhere that FLM machines many of GA's parts it would make sense for one of the skid plates to fit the FLM chassis.

I don't have the chassis yet but I am going to buy the GA skid plates soon. I figured that since I am planning to step up to the FLM in the near future (as soon as they have the battery bars available) I may as well get the center skid plate that fits it. I can use my RPM center until then.

Sorry to steal the thread, dadgummit.
Can I use the VBS titanium skids with the FLM Hybrids?
If not, what ti skids can I use then?

Squee,
I hate to correct you but FLM battery bars are NOT available. I spoke with Jamie at FLM a couple days ago about this. He stated that he didn't like the design (although Mike did purchase several sets) and does not plan to make any more. He may not make any period.
I have a set of the FLM "Hinged" battery hold downs coming (possibly his last set). The best alternate choice would probably be the G-Maxx battery hold-downs in carbon or aluminum. It looks like they would fit perfectly with the proper vertical spacing.

Understood. I thought the same thing and I was surprised when Jamie told me differently. I'd love to see FLM tweak the design a little bit more. If they did it would be arguably as nice as the UE. I would pay an extra $40 - $60 for an upgraded version.
