I must have missed this one before. Now that is how you do a custom home made vehicle. That is a pretty cool rig you built there. Taking a cheap piece of junk and turning it into a work of art is definitely a cool way to go. Nice build Redshift. That shows some real ingenuity.

Hehe it's a stealthy thread... thanks for the compliments

It is finally bulletproof after doing the 3mm upgrade on the spool and the solid pins on the input shaft and seems to be up to the level I had in mind when I started the project.

I had a 'minor' collision with the 3905 you see in the video, cost him a snapped upper a-arm and two bent shock shafts- cam was off at the time... darn!

A little update, I no longer own the MA garbage mentioned early in the thread (yeah I thought those were impressive at one time).

It runs purely on Hyperion Swift 4000 non-hardcase packs now and they must have about 3 times the punch of those 'other' packs, I am still undergeared at 22/64 and the Swift packs don't even get slightly warm like
my Evo25 FP packs.

Also I no longer use grease in the diffs and trans, I use Oil Treatment. Far less drag and doesn't pack like grease of course, and actually stays on the metal under extreme loads- I recommend it for any gear applications.

I am looking to start replacing the temporary parts with final versions and remake some damaged body pieces. Actually for what abuse it took over the winter I am astonished how little damage there is

More chase cam videos to come, cams will be mounted on BOTH trucks- gonna be a good time!

These are some before brushless shots from early 06, did yellow for visibility, never really happy with the look overall tho... I don't remember how many stick packs I burned up trying to feed those damn Titans, and I don't think it ever broke 20 mph. 2 speed was a necessity then, first gear is useless now unless I go way taller- I like that kind of evolution ;)

I wouldnt mind some underside shots, and some more of the shock towers- how exactly are they attached to the bulks?

Nice custom creation, never seen one quite like that before....

Ok, here's how it looked in Oct. '05, I was finally satisfied with the chassis itself, 2nd revision (I built an entire chassis before this one that was even more brickish) but now I have this butt ugly chunk of ???, it has no character, just like an uncooked slab of steak lol. So what now?

I have an RC pet peeve... body clips. I hate them and always have. My first hobby grade RC was a Tamiya Subaru Brat, that was about 1985, and I remember thinking "this is the stupidest &%$#@ way to hold a body on!

And not to sound like an arrogant ass, I love these bodies you guys come up with, they just ain't my style, I wanted something permanently attached, self contained and what not. Even if it was a little boxy looking hehe.

So I set out on the trim work, lightening up unneccessary material and deciding on some kind of layout, and I came up with the yellow rendition, which I was calling Madd Maxx, it should have been called Sunny cuz it din't have the look to fit the name....
