Evader BX - Going brushless

As I mentioned, I'm going to go with a new battery set-up so the 1500s I have now are a non-issue.

SpEEdyBL- What parts were you breaking mostly? I've been thinking I'd want to go to all the graphite and aluminum parts that I can. May make the buggy a bit heavier, but hopefully a bit more durable. I may just convert the BX to an ST in the process.

I've broken most of the plastic parts in crashes or just a mere wipe-out that involves hitting a bump. (The only plastic parts that I haven't broken are the rear a-arms and the rear hub carriers). Makes me think of how much of the car I've replaced lol.
Every single drivetrain part can fail in normal running. (idler gear. diff gear, spur gear, differential, slipper clutch, drive shafts and wheel pins)

First upgrade to:

Drive train:

1. Robinson racing "absolute" spur gear (also fits assciated stealth buggy)
2. slipper clutch bushings
3. carbide diff balls

Plastic:

1. aluminum front bulkhead
2. aluminum knuckle arms

The list of all the parts that should be upgraded is overwhelmingly long and expensive (may as well buy another car or two by then), but these I think are the most essential. Welcome to the brushless world!

For my xxx-t drivetrain, I run a 1 piece aluminum top shaft, kevlar spur gear, and high quality bearings. I can get around 20 runs usually. I've never tried an associated drivetrain, but if I were to build a truck specifically for brushless these days. It'd be an factory team t3 with all the rpm parts.

The t3 is nearly bulletproof, especially with an alloy idler gear. Wolrds above Losi in terms of durability in the drive train.

Another reason aassociated is better then losi people using ae stuff for there losi trucks make me laugh.

Has anyone heard of TowerPro? I saw a servo and a few other parts from them that I may consider, but again since I'm new to the hobby I don't know if it's a known/good brand or not...

my losi never gave me and drivetrain problems except having to replace the out bearings. it was actually my fault for blowing the dirt of of them with a air compressor. oops :M:

For any 1:10 buggy or truck (short of running masher 2K tyres, they're very heavy) I'd recommend a Lehner Basic 5300 and MGM80 combo. Or if your in the UK a Mtroniks Genesis combo, I've had really good performance with their kit with no issues. They've apparently sold hundreds of units as well with no real problems.

My 5300 with Mtroniks esc would give me loads of runtime, and more power than I knew what to do with. 60mph on 8 cells is easy work in my T3. I use mostly GP3300 batteries with my brushless kit, they perform great, look into getting 7 cells if your charger/power supply can handle it, just make sure the pack will fit in the car OK.

So ideally in your position I would get an MGM80 controller, Lehner basic 5300 motor and 6 or 7 cell GP3300 packs. This will give you everything, more power than you can put to the ground around the street half the time. The extra cell makes a lot of difference as well.

Associated trucks are built to take a lot, mine fitted with mashers and every RPM part (even GT nylon arms at front) will happily jump over my garage (about 8ft tall) without thinking about it as long as you land on all 4 wheels.

Good quality, fast and strong, I put one in my truck not too long ago and use it in my TC3 as well. Just check the measurements on it to be sure it'll fit in your car, its a bit longer than some servo's.

Just had a look at the servo's you sell, i couldn't find the specific one I linked to (BMS 631MG), but I see you do stock most of the other ones, but the ones you stock are more suited for trucks than something like an Evader.

Edit: Sorry I just found it and your price is better, bit hard to find though.

Yes, I need to get a seperate section for the radio equipment, I think. I am starting to get a lot of stuff and it is difficult to keep the site looking clean.

Sometimes you need to add a section to get more customers :) I think the site could still look clean with a slight restructure of the sections or simply adding a radio equ section.

Yeah, that is what I was referring to. I have enough stuff to justify a radio section, which would also clean up the other sections that have the radio stuff listed in them. I will try to get it done over the weekend.
