Well, I know someone who wouldn't mind an extra Spek receiver! Gotta use the remaining 24 model memory slots on my DX3r for something...

My problem seemed like the batteries voltage was dropping so far it reset the rx (i could see the rx light go off and watch it reset), but i tried all kinds of high powered lipos and stuff too, the a123 were just the standard setup, and it happened with the motor not connected to anything as well - not even a pinion on it, I'm pretty sure A123 cells are up to spinning an unloaded motor without dropping below 1V/cell lol... I can't figure out what it is, and havent to this day. I've used the exact same setup in other cars without problem, it is really really baffling. Like I know there is something I'm not thinking of, and its really frustrating lol.. oh well.

A few questions:
- Were you using a BEC or Rx pack?
- Were the rx pins dirty? Or, they may have a cold solder joint and making/breaking contact.
- Is the antenna sound? I had a Spektrum antenna that was flaky and had odd stuff happen until I replaced it. Was a PITA to solder though because of some coating on the PCB.

I tried an external and the internal BEC, and 4 different receivers. I don't own an Rx pack but I'm thinking I'll build something and try it soon. I'd hate to have to run an Rx pack though, and I still can't believe 4s1p drop that much with zero load... it actually seemed to glitch more when I was testing it unloaded, but it could just be my frustration imagining things lol... meh more testing when I have time.. I'll probably make some thread about it if I ever succesfully figure it out haha

2"? Is your esc touching the motor or something? I bet you will have trouble mounting the esc flat. Have fun holding the motor in place while changing the gearing.
Generally, shorter is always better, though it's not really practical to shorten 10ga wires that much, unless you have space issues in your vehicle otherwise. The worst things that could happen if your wires are to short is if you decide to put the motor system in a different vehicle and suddenly the wires don't reach to the esc. You'll have to solder on an extension. This is why I prefer motors with solder tabs, in which case you don't need to worry about over-shortening the wires. In fact, I just decide to rotate the MMM 90 degrees in my 8ight and even though the MMM bullets only moved an inch away further to the motor, the wires had to be about 2" longer just because of the angle required to bend the wires.

No the esc doesnt touch the motor, and no its not a problem mounting the esc FLAT on the chassis behind the motor. its easy enough to solder extensions on if need be- with me being broke, i dont see another car in the near future anyway.

Well my V3 should be here by monday. but i Think I eliminated the glitching problem
Spektrum Rx- I got from a trade for a charger, and some miscelaneous stuff
Module- I payed 60 Bucks for. So now im in the 2.4ghz club and I like it soo far.
And I just got done shortening the motor leads down to 4 inches. Esc will be mounted behind the motor on the chassis.

What is your gearing?
How does the Neu-Castle compare to the same Neu motor (performace-wise)?
Sorry for the questions, if they've already been answered in earlier posts but I am getting dizzy going through the previous ten pages of posts.

I am having some heat issues with mine. Geared for 38 in an e-revo I am seeing 170+ on the motor. It has lots of power though!

Update:
All slotted rotor-motors(say that 5 times fast) Will be hard to turn by hand.
The maximum Shaft play is approximately 1-2mm

To clarify, the rotors are not slotted, the stators are...
