Yep, I likes that alot, think Im gonna have to follow that approach with the esc mounting (any excuse to make yet another custom motor mount, getting good at this now). I might even fab something up for my parallel connectors for the lipos and hard-mount them to the rear upper plate, save having wires flopping around back there and coming loose.

Very inspiring work dude, keep it up.

Thanks man, im glad you like! Esc mount is very easy to do. Easiest way is to use some L-Steel bracket, imo. Can be found at local hardware stores, im sure.

Basic thing is to keep the wires as short as possible, that helps to keep 'em organized. That reminds me to shorten mine parallel connector..

Omg the dang thing burst into flames and got hit by a tractor
Juuust kidding!

Powering first time the system had some difficulties. Fan keeped blowing, Leds were all on and no response throttle nor steering. Figured that I didn't Bind my receiver with the radio after making a new profile for it. So it didn't get signal.

Did a little test run outside. It runs very well, can't really say about the performance yet, traction isn't best at ice/snow. Front wheel flyed off though..
Throttle is smooth as a butter, a light year ahead from my bk controller. Temps were quite normal for this weather motor 30C° controller 35-40C° outside 0C°. Batterys were... cold

And another thing. I was suprised that 14t mod 1 pinion was too small. It barely touched the spurs teeths.. So had to settle for 16t.

I tweaked Esc's settings a little. Should I change something? And about the brake amount, is it all the same if I tune it from the radio or from the esc's setting?

I have things adjusted a little different, but not by much. I have the punch control at full power, alot less brake, smaller throttle deadband, auto lipo, and a faster arming time. Just pp on how you want to run your truck. If I were you I wouldnt mess with the punch control, you can use your transmitter to tame your truck if it is too wild. I usually slow my trucks down when I go to the track and speed them back up for bashing. I get too power happy at the track.

Thanks for advices, have to explore the settings more. It runs fine though. I guess I have to wait till snow melts a way.. Then I can start the proper tests.
I would like to hear other ppl's opinion too.

I just thought of why I lowered my brake settings. Sometimes under hard braking, if you go from brake to gas quick the motor will cog. Not sure if it will do it for you, but it is something you should be aware of.

I like the snow-drifting action, wish I had a functioning motor when we had snow over xmas and newyear.

How do you like the Integy wheelie bar? I just about the exact same one and am wondering how its gonna work. I always hating the ones with 2 wheels because when its riding on it, it always seemed to walk one way or the other, and it seems like the Savage ones with 1 wheel always worked better. Besides, I don't wanna destroy my wing...

[OFFTOPIC]

Squee, you should bring back the bouncing/dancing kid for a while. I miss the chuckle I get whenever I see it.

Thanks suicideneil. The car is now pretty much a drifter anyways. I managed to break the rear diff sometime ago and it's now locked somehow Have to blame the mmm combo.... Just too much power. I hope it stays locked so I can wait for new diffs.

Hey squee, guess what happened to the wheelie bars rim at the snow drifting video Look at the video 1:25. I thought that there were some traction cause there wasn't snow. But no, it just slided to the wall rear end first. Back home I started to clean the snow off I noticed that the rim was shattered. Cold weather + rough impact. But it was just the rim. Integy has made the wheelie bar pretty geniously. There's ball bearings and even a insert foam at the wheel
Haven't got any chances to test the wheelie bar properly yet though. Too slippery weather

Btw that's hilarious avatar Makes me laugh every time I see it.

Update - 03.31.2009, 07:59 AM

Got my wheelie bar fixed yesterday. The wheel of the bar isn't the strongest one. Replaced it to much stronger one now. I know very easy fix but here's pics anyway

Was a bit lucky for findign just a right sized one. Even the bearings fit there.
So rightway I got that fixed I went to test it. The rear diff spread completely. That was expected, because it was already gone locked for some reason..

So now that I have order ongoing to Mike, I might want new diffs for this. Are the V3's the only ones? I like they are a bit expensive since I need 2 of them. So it makes 200$ for both ends, right..?
