FLM e-maxx chassis with a carbon addition. :) - 02.09.2008, 05:44 PM

Here is the result of a plan i had for quite some time now. Had the drawings for a longer time, but never had a change to have them machined.

Today i jumped the opportunity and took my carbon sheet trough a CNC mill!

In the attached PDF is the plan of this 'conversion'

What i did was cut off the battery 'ears' of the flm chassis with a handsaw, used a wood router and a 45 degree bit to get the chamfered edges. The holes in the braces of the chassis changed from M3 to M4. the end of the lower plate is resting on the rear skid.

my intention was to make a lower CG that was compatible/adjustable with the different sizes of lipo packs.

I like the low CG of the gmaxx chassis, and the bashing thing about the FLM..

Anyway, here are some pics..
