Whats a good transmitter and receiver, i looked at the futaba 2.4 ghz
I did lose a lot of range. After I went brushless, my range pretty much rendered my truck undrivable. After I switched to the futaba I haven't had any problems at all. I would recommend it. I've been very happy with mine.

Lose the mechanical brakes.

Get this servo...
http://www.impaktrc.com/product_info...roducts_id=317

So whats it take to go brushless?...
$400 for a motor and controller (in between price, you could go alot more or less.)
$95 for the motor mount, clutch, gears, etc. Stock tranny
$70 single servo
$15 FOC

... Then batteries... Thats another $400+ (lipos)

I would suggest than a 5000mah 4s either TrueRc or a Zippy, and with that setup you wouldnt need a Monster, a MM should do with a UBEC, right now at the price you can get a MMM fro Mike for I would go that route, and with the Feigao dont over gear the motor or it will run hot

MM - Mamba Max
MMM - Mamba Monster Max (Monster)
UBEC - Battery Eliminator Circuit

The monster has a built in BEC and can also take up to 25v so Monster is a much better ESC

IMO I would go for a tg5955 servo if you can...

A 5000 4s truerc may be a little light - you would be ok with a polyquest or other Enerland 5k pack but may need to get a larger pack (6 or 8k) if you want to go with Truerc.
