Yep tried that mike. If i got it to stop cogging it sucked. Geared it down kind of low. It seems like the motor needs to change timing to run best. The armature is so small in diameter. I don't think it has the torque of sensorless. Have pic if you like it. 7xl verse the novak hv maxx armature.
Peace!

There is no doubt that the 7xl is way more motor than the novak. The novak is more like a 380 size xl motor. Sensoless or sensored has nothing to do with it. It is the size of the magnet(novak is smaller and therefore has less power). How many cells did you run it on? I know it won't touch the 7xl, but it is still a decent motor-just not the beast that the 7xl is.

I started with 12. went to 14 I won't worried about motor so. I packed a whopping 18cells on it. I know it don't supposed to take it. It was smooth on bottom with one setting but the top end sucked. got the top right and the bottom sucked. The novak motor needs a sensored controller. JMO Two novaks are not a 7xl.

The strength of the two magnets are unreal. The 7xl rotor is a lot stronger. Not sure if it is because it is bigger or just better.

The Sphere is the new associated brushless controller. Good for 4-7 cells. It is designed for the 1/10 size vehicles.

I was hoping you knew mike on a controller to run a sensored motor on 12 cells besides novak. don't want to spend a fortune. Before that I would pitch it and go sensorless.

As I said, any sensorless controller should run the motor. I can't think of any 12 cell sensored controller that would work with it.

I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I've run across a guy that is going to run a single hv maxx and is using an otherwise stock emaxx. he plans on running 6400mah (prolly 2s) lipos. say he kept tock gearing or close to it, what is going to be his max run time. i said a max of 20-25mins if running hard
S^3: everyone wishes they could design modifications like these.
