I'm not sure either, but those plettenbergs are no smooth starters.. (the bigmaxx) why get an expensive 4 pole if a simple and cheap 2pole is just as strong, 1% more efficient and 1/3 of the price..?

We live and learn, don't we!?

Just recently someone asked the question at an european forum: What is the best BL money can buy? Numerous members posted Schulze and Plettenberg

No mention of segmented magnets or Lehner whatsoever.
Just because it's the most expensive (and vulnerable) doesen't mean it's the best.
Already the non segmented Feigao XL has the same efficiency as those Pletts, btw.

Yeah, I'm glad I met the guys here, esp Mike and Serum, before I bought a really expensive setup.

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

The Basic XL are nice motors, no doubt. They spool up quick. But I could do with an XXL version, and some segmented Magnets.
You get what you pay for, though. And the Basic XL is a nice, affordable motor.

I can't wait to try a High-End motor.
