Thank you very much Arct1k, you have been so helpful, RESPECT & to the others too

So final list should look like this is there missing something?
Total:$ 804.92

Just got Mikes confirmation, that he is ready.. he just need spessific list about these parts

I have to think more about those inner diff cups, if they are too expensive.. But have to ask Mike if he could get em with reasonable price..

And one thing about my strobe slipper, there are now 51T spur so the pinion should be smaller.. In the list I put 3 pinions, so I could choose variety sizes. What sizes should I get?

The RDlogistics internal diff cases are cheap - $30 for 2 or Mike has the FLM ones for $30 each if you want to go that route.

I would skip the RPM arms - Just go for the traxxas extended rears - I find the RPM ones too flexible.

If you have the strobe slipper at the moment I assume you are mod 1 - Use Briang's script to check pinion sizes once you decide on a motor.

On the Hardened Idler - If you are single speed you will only need one - I recommend the single speed mod.

It might be worth looking at the medusa 60mm - People are finding the run cooler and with the heatsink and the cost of this beast you may just spend the extra $20.

Also you don't need to go as expensive on the charger - I think you might want to re-look at the 1210i which mike stocks - You can charge both packs together with a Y lead and every once in a while charge separatly to balance them.

This saves you $100 which could allow you to buy a Neu motor - A 1515 2.5DF would be perfect and a much better investment in my opinion.

Rgds

Ok. So the external diff case is useable with the FLM internal case?

Ok. Only rears?

Yes, Mod1. I will check that script

Yes, the gearbox is singlespeed, I think. But I think that last owner has replaced the Hardened Idler.. Have to check that tomorrow

Is that motor 4 poler? BK12020 won't run it nicely?

Does the charging times suffer with this kind of modding? And this 1210i has integrated balancer?

This motor/esc setup is just temporary, I will look the mmm + neu set later... when they publish it...

Sorry for the huge quote

Check with Mike on the diff cases but I believe yes.

Go with the:
- traxxas extended rear revo arms http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail.php?prod=TRX5333R
- RP front arms (only if using stock plastic drive shafts)

Best confirm about the BK and Medusa compatability in brushless section I'm not sure

610i It has a lower power rating 250w but at 25V this is still 10a which is enough for a 2p pack - It has a built in balancer for when you do an occasional balance charge
http://b-p-p.com/proddetail.php?prod=fb_0610i
The 1210 requires an LBA10 external balancer.

PS at the BK site it references that it should work on a 4 pole up to 50k rpm - I'm sre what this means practically though

I think I go with the basic 09XL motor for now. There shouldn't be any problems then and they are rather cheap. Don't get me wrong the motor/esc will change as soon as castle release the mmm combo..

I used Briang's parameter solver for the pinion and it pointed some around 20t pinion. Not quite sure If I typed all correctly though..

Differential Ratio: 2.8461538461538463
Transmission Ratio: 1.7222222222222223
Additional Ratio: 1
Spur Tooth Count: 51
Pinion Tooth Count: 20.7831
Battery Voltage: 19.8
Motor KV: 1853
Tire Diameter (inches): 5.51
Top Speed (MPH): 50

So you think the 610i with Y-lead would be enough for the A123 packs?

Ok, so let's look that list again
  • Charger - 610i
  • Mod 1 Pinions 18,20 & 22T
  • Traxxas extended rear & front revo arms (Steel drive shafts)
  • 09XL
  • Rc-Monster Heat Sink, Black
  • 2x Ofna spurs For Strobe Slipper
  • 2x 6S A123 packs 19.8V 4600 mah
  • External Diff case + (FLM) Inner Case

I opened the gearbox
It seems that the Hardened Idler is there? Should there be grease inside?

Looks great - That should work great - Yes there should be a V light coating of grease Honda Moly 60 works well.

Agree on gearing with tire balooning I think you might want to consider 16 18 20

OK, Thanks. Tomorrow I will email Mike the list. And ask at the same time about those outer/inner diffs.. Probably have to ask Mike to do the Y-Lead to the charger too.

It is just this - you will need one anyway to connect the two packs into your esc...

Bk12020 has two sets of wires (black/red) so it will work in parallel when I just plug the packs to them. But anyway the charger needs the Y-lead.

Is there anywhere some more info about A123 batterys? just want to know the basic things..

I shot an email to Mike two days ago about the stuffs. But haven't got an answer. Should I spam another?
Just that im leaving end of this month to lapland and want to take the car with me. So there is pretty short deadline. Should I be worried, is Mike fast on shipping things to europe?

He is very fast with shipping, probably just busy with orders and such as per usual. Give it another day or two, then email him again as a reminder. For basic A123 info, try my FAQ on my website: http://robotwars.00server.com/emaxxfaq.html and scroll down to the battery section.

Ok the order is in progress, I think.. but still have to work out the payment with Mike..

Now I started to wonder about the motor, will 9xl be too hot with 19.8 volts? What you guys think?

Little update. Mike lost all my emails so the order did delayed a little bit . It happens, but I think he can get the stuff coming in a few days..
I did some preliminary work and turned around the gear box, installed front/rear bumbers, put the servo in place and loctited all the metal to metal screws. Also I ordered new Spektrum Dx3r radios should be here in couple days.. Cant wait

Can anybody say about the motor, should I consider 10xl beside 9xl?

Here some crappy pics:
