Ahh so the ubec manages the power for servo's aswell as the esc? Didn't know that.

yeah the steering signal for the speedo is put thru the receiver to the esc.

I have a question. I don't remember the kind of chassis you run. If you run the gorilla chassis. Is there a way the batteries shorted out against the chassis and the ubec was the connecting link.
