How can Castle possibly supply enough MMM's to traxxas for the new brushless erevo?

Castle keeps up with the demand for Mamba Maxes, and they perform remarkably well with QUITE a low failure rate. I'm sure once they get the MMM worked out they can kick production into high gear and produce plenty of MMMs, both for Traxxas and individual sale.

Yup, a lot of people need to lighten up here...or Patrick ain't gonna stick around and, like has been said, Mike's gonna get sick of this too.

Castle have a considerably higher turnover per year than Traxxas, and are a lot bigger and more capable than some people think, it seems. The only reason why there haven't been all that many MMMs floating about is because they've had to keep stopping production to fix issues.
I'm pretty sure Castle and Traxxas wouldn't have made this deal if Castle couldn't meet demand; Patrick knows what his company can and can't do.

+1. Sure there have been problems with the MMM, but they keep the production low enough to not screw people but high enough to figure out the problems that are bound to exist in a new product. The MM wasn't perfect when it first came out now look at it, people pushing roughly double the rated voltage through them with just a cheap fan and a BEC and about $0.50 worth of other parts (Zener diode and some caps). Hopefully a year or two from now this will all be 100% behind people, Castle will come through for us like they have with EVERY other product they have made.

Has Traxxas really gotten a full ship of them? Last I heard the V2s have been out of production for a while and the V3s are only getting a small initial production run to make sure they got all the bugs out, then they will fix whatever else needs fixed and produce more. Hopefully they send a dozen or two to BrianG to tinker with, if there's a problem he can probably find it and fix it!

I think a wait-and-see approach is needed here. I would think that anyone with a MMM in the shop will get them first...before the BL ERevo's ship with them. If the opposite happens, I'd say that would be a huge snub in the face of the loyal beta-testers. I just don't think CC would go that route. They will do what's right.

I don't think the demand is really going to be THAT high or the BL e-revo, at least not for a while. Every LHS I have been to that is a Traxxas dealer either doesn't even have the e-revo stocked or maybe has 1. I was at a LHS a couple weeks ago as I needed another set up 17MM hub adapters for my e-revo, and a gentleman was there looking to purchase a RTR truck. The LHS pushes the e-maxx over the e-revo hands down. I tried swaying him to even look at the revo as it is so durable and bashable. LHS says that for the money, e-revo isn't worth it. I think the e-maxx was like $350 and the e-revo was $430ish.
So add in a BL RTR that will likely hit for over $600... and I think it'll keep demand a bit supressed, especially in this economy. add in the fact the nearly every LHS knows about the MMM and MM history.. I really don't think they are going to come out of the gate supporting that RTR. It'll take some time until the v3s are proven and build that reputation.
This is, by no means, a bashing post. It's just an observation. We know CC can ramp up production pretty quick and get some good numbers produced. I am sure they'll get the repair/replacements out the door and kick into high gear to supply Traxxas, remember also, this is the end of the season for a good portion of the country as winter approaches.

First off Castle is a great company, I still run a trusty MM w/ BEC in my 8ight-b.. Castle does take care of you and will continue to, again one of the top companies. You guys all need to get off this totally negative push.

With that said I was also questioning Traxxas's move on the timing of the announcement with the MMM's in the current state they are in.. also was curious if Castle can handle the added production, as Traxxas has a pretty sweet distribution and will turn a LOT of product. Trust me even in the current economy there is room for a brushless beast like that, Traxxas and Castle will have no issues with movement. Price point I would est a street price of 549 upon release. I'd be very surprised if they dump it on the market for more, keeping in mind the evx-2 is a credit in a sense if you are using the 420 base price of the e-revo. Figure Traxxas has about $40 more into the MMM vs the evx-2 and I'd guess swapping from two titans to the brushless is about $100 diff at cost. So again 410 +40 +100= 550 and a after xmas with coupons I'd expect closer to 510 even 499.

I think the original question here was legit. The answer which I believe to be true is that with the v3, Castle has finally worked out the kinks and the MMMv3 should be solid. Thus they can start cranking them out to fill orders, repairs and Traxxas needs. As for timing, look how long it took for the E-Revo to ship after the initial announcement. There is plenty of time to build loads of v3's for all the demand.

I agree with ya Stum. I think price would really HAVE to be in the $500 range to move it.. But will be pleasantly surprised if it is.

Castle, Hands down, takes their customer service very seriously. Which is what keeps me waiting.

+1 I have to agree that the original question was legit. My reply was more out of curiousity...not bashing.

I expect Castle to take care of it's customers first (the original users). I wouldn't say I'm 100% confident that they will do it this way, but I do anticipate that happening. IF they don't take care of us first, remember it's not that they WON'T take care of us, we just have to be patient because there IS NO BETTER ALTERNATIVE! (taking price into consideration) (BTW, that's not shouting, that's just emphasis on that fact.)

The brushless E-revo isnt gonig to hit the streets until early 09. Could mean January, Feb, March etc etc. The new MMM's should be shipping early November if I read that last post right. E-revos will not be flying off the shelves as everyone has mentioned. With the 2.4 gig radio being a 150 adder and subtract the 30 dollar AM radio the E-revo is going to carry a hefty price tag. That being said though it will be the only truly brushless truck out there and they will sell quite a bit of them, but I dont think it will be close to lets say the slash which keeps flying off the shelves.

I have no doubt in my mind that Castle can keep up with the orders. Just think, Castle has three months before the E-Revo Brushless Edition comes out to build up their stocks and get the other customers a replacement v3.




They'll do just fine.

The Brushless Edition E-Revo WILL HAVE THE NEW V3 in it. So it will hopefully work.
