Associated made the speed record with their TC3 at 96mph using a brushed motor with cobalt magnets and a lrp esc with 14 cells. Their pan car made a 111+ speed run with an Aveox motor and 24 cells. I believe my Evo IV can make such speed with the 1930/5 turn. I have to figure out the weak points in my chassis first, beef it up and then I'll send you a vid. G Maxx, I also read in one of the forums about a T-maxx or an E-maxx that reached 86-89 mph. Too bad I dont remember where was that thread.

The fastest speed i ever seen documented(Magazine or otherwise) was Cliff Lett of Team Associated at Irwindale raceway. he used a rc10L on road car and a tc3 on different speed runs. The Pan car ran at 111mph before it crashed and according to Cliff "he still had trigger left" on the touring car he ran 95mph in both 2wd and 4wd.

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

If you look closer at the pic, its using Lead acid batts, the 5cells are a BEC. Lead acid batts are by no means light. Chassis is laminated chipboard - I rest my case. My granny could run faster than that.

Are you sure? I bet you could use one of the big lehner 30 series on 36 cells in a light truck and get that speed.

The 3080 needs some 60V to give its full power. So I guess 20 lipos are quite good for that motor.
